Kleberson: It could have been different

Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson beleives that he could have been a success.

Klebersen joined United in 2003, the same time as Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Old Trafford, but dislocated his shoulder in only his second game – a season later he found himself out of favour.

He is now playing his football back in Brazil for Flamengo.

“I arrived in Manchester, along with Ronaldo, with a lot of hope but left with huge sadness,” he said.

“An injury in only my second league match proved a very negative factor and in my second season I wasn’t given many chances.

“I believe I could have been a bigger success in English football. But not everyone is guaranteed success at United.”
