Manchester United take on Wolfsburg in their final Champions League group game this evening in the midst of a substantial injury crisis.

15 first team players are missing and Patrice Evra is the only recognisable senior defender in the squad.

United’s long list of injuries means that a number of youth team players will be included in the squad, including Chief Executive David Gill’s son.

Oliver Gill will be joined by fellow youngsters Magnus Eikrem, Matthew James, Oliver Norwood and Cameron Stewart.

Ryan Giggs is expected to be rested, while Michael Carrick is likely to line up in central defence alongside Patrice Evra and Darren Fletcher as a stand in right back.

United’s make-shift defence will have to face Edin Dzeko. The striker, who is reportedly attracting interest from Old Trafford, was on the score-sheet when the teams met in September.

With the likes of Fletcher and Carrick moving back into defence, Anderson, Park Ji-Sung and Gabriel Obertan are likely to start in their place.

Despite all the injuries and a make shift defence I still think United will give a good account of themselves. My prediction for the game is a narrow 1-0 United win.

Do you agree with my prediction? If not, how do you think United will fare in Germany?
