Kuszczak – 7 – Solid performance with some good saves. Needs to work on his distribution a little but a generally good performance.
Fletcher – 7 – Once again showed his versatility putting in an effective shift in defence.
Carrick – 6 – Was very lucky not to concede a penalty early on but did alright otherwise in an unfamiliar position.
Evra – 8 – Stepped up to the plate to give a captain’s performance after Ferguson handed him the armband.
Park – 6 – Did ok in attack but was too easily beaten for the cross that led to Dzeko’s goal.
Gibson – 6 – Seems to be growing into his role in the United midfield and linked well with Anderson and Scholes.
Scholes – 7 – Brilliant special awareness to pick out Nani for Owen’s first goal and took the sting out of many Wolfsburg attacks.
Anderson – 7 – Energetic performance from the Brazilian. Was commanding in midfield and picked out some intelligent passes.
Nani – 6 – Fantastic cross for Owen to score but is still struggling to make the right decisions when it counts.
Welbeck – 6 – Held the ball up well to relieve the pressure on the United defence and will have learned a lot from the game.
Owen – 9 – Not always involved but provided a killer instinct in attack. Linked well with the midfield and crowned his hat-trick with a superb final goal.
Subs:
Valencia – 6 – Didn’t make much of an impact when he came on but didn’t do anything wrong.
Obertan – 8 – Another fine cameo and provided a moment of genius for Owen’s second goal.
