Real: We’ve never been interested in Rooney

Jorge Valdano insists Real Madrid do not want to sign Man United striker Wayne Rooney.

The England striker took his tally to 20 for the season after scoring all four goals against Hull City at the weekend.

Real Madrid general manager Jorge Valdano told Radio COPE: “He is extraordinary, very, very good.

“Rooney is English, we all know they find it difficult to adapt to another type of competition other than the Premier League.

“He is a very interesting player but we have not ever been interested.”
