Hargreaves to return to action

Owen Hargreaves is set to make his comeback for Manchester United’s reserves.

The midfielder has not featured since September 2008 due to a troublesome knee injuries, but had operations on both knees under the experienced Dr Richard Steadman.

If all goes to plan, then Hargreaved will play for United’s reserves against Manchester City at Altrincham’s Moss Lane.

“Owen Hargreaves has shown for the first time that he is almost ready to play,” said Ferguson.

“He has been training with the first team, which has been good to see and is pencilled in for a game with the reserves on Thursday.”
