Sir Alex Ferguson said Manchester United had dropped “silly points” by drawing at Fulham.

United were held to a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage and should have won the game, if not for Nani’s missed penalty while the score was in United’s favour at 2-1.

Why Nani took the penalty when the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were on the pitch baffles me.

“When you get the opportunity to seal the game with that penalty you should be taking it,” Ferguson told MUTV.

“It was a missed opportunity and it galvanised them, got the crowd up and they scored the equaliser in the end.

“When we got that second goal I thought ‘we’ve escaped here’.

“But to miss a penalty kick to make it 3-1, you’re throwing two points away there I’m afraid.

“You don’t want to be dropping silly points and we dropped silly points here. We can’t escape that.

“There was an opportunity to go 3-1 ahead with three minutes left and we didn’t take it.”

Fulham played very well and a draw is a fair result…

United are going backward in terms of signing and losing their stars. They lost the services of C.Ronaldo and Tevez, while the 3 players they brought in last summer have made only little impact (M.Owen, A.Valencia, G.Obertan). This summer they over paid (again) for the signatures of Hernandez and Smalling (Both of them cost United more than 10 million each, how’s come????) They also spend more than 7 million for an unknown Portugese player!!! Don’t you think they are crazy??? OR, is there any corruption going on at ManU???…

Arsenal singed Chamakh for FREE, while Liverpool also get J.Cole for FREE!!!!… Both are much more valuable player than those 3 that United spend nearly 30m. this summer!!!! WHY???….

Even when we look back, United sign Z.Tosic for more than 10 million, and rarely gave him a chance, which eventually sell him for an undisc-fee. I also believe that United paid over price for Anderson.
