Young to start United life on the left

Ashley Young wil start life on the left side of the Manchester United team, Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.

The summer signing from Villa can operate in a number of different positions, but he plans to look at him on the wing first.

Fergie said: “Ashley can play in more than one position. He can play wide right, left, even behind the striker, so we have options there. But, initially, we’ll start him as a wide left player.”
